De Nieuwe Ruimte

De Nieuwe Ruimte is a large, open, bright space of 180 m2 on the first floor of an artist’s house. Located in the quiet Uilenburgerstraat between Nieuwmarkt and Waterlooplein. Available for: brainstormsessions, network events, presentations, workshops, events, breakfast, lunch, diners. The building in which De Nieuwe Ruimte is located was designed by an artist duo and architect Onno de Vries. The garden invites you to take a break, but you can also walk around in the area where there are many shops and cafes.

The catering is vegetarian, fresh daily, top quality and the ingredients are of biological origin.

Location

The building dates back to 1925 and was built to store butter and cheese. The original façade is still intact and the industrial hoist is found hanging from the ceiling. The entire space was renovated in 2016.

The interior is flexible and can be prepared as desired. Different set-ups are possible. You can meet in a large group and there are seating areas where you can retire to have small group meetings. There is plenty of natural light streaming through the attached loft and windows at the front and rear. The VIP room (with an extra toilet) on the second floor may be additionally booked if necessary.

Accessibility

It is a 15-minute walk through the city center from Amsterdam Central Station. You may also take the metro to Nieuwmarkt and walk to the location in 7 minutes. From Amsterdam Amstel get off at stop Waterlooplein (tram). You can access De Nieuwe Ruimte via staircase. The entrance can be reached through the front garden.

There is sufficient parking available and there are various options in the area: Parkeergarage Waterlooplein, Parkeergarage Stopera, Parkeergarage Markerhoven, Oosterdokgarage bij de OBA .

This location was perfect for us, at walking distance from our office. It's a beautiful, open space with lots of natural light. Great service of both Public Locations as De Nieuwe Ruimte. The owner and hostesses of De Nieuwe Ruimte made us feel welcome and were very helpful. The food and beverages were amazing! WiFi and electric equipment (beamer, screen, speakers) were all working properly, it's a perfect location for a meeting combined with drinks and bites! We would definitely recommend to book this location!
